Brilliant

You see it; you feel it. You remark about it.

• Wow.
• She has it.
• He is something else.

The first facet of real, honest, and true personal power strikes—bang—like a brilliant gleam in your eye. People with this kind of personal power, you see and feel right away, on the spot.

Let’s be honest. Power that strikes instantly is the best kind of personal power. It’s real personal power. But while most folks stumble through life searching for love, power, freedom, and fun, few find it resonating and resounding as strongly as they’d like.

You might own some other kinds of power. Many people gather, through time, some kind of agency power. Agency power comes in three modes:

• Hierarchy power is built from bureaucratic, corporate, religious, or other institutional organization architecture
• Rein power derives from some kind of binding agreement. A business entity, marriage certificates, and other religious artifacts bind people and create rein power.
• Clobber power usually emerges by discovering an aggressive edge. This power locks one in terrible, abusive relationships, and, as the term suggests, either manifests or implies physical or emotional manipulation or violence.

Do not seek agency power. Seek real, personal power. No agency power is an internal kind of personal power; it’s not real power. It’s fabricated and it leans on the existence of something outside yourself. Seek inner, not outer, strength.

Before exploring methods of gathering and maintaining personal power, examine and define it. Look around and mark it. Spend some time watching through people and events, gazing into the heart of power. Watch what happens. When you see it, you’ll know.

The Chuncho are a native ethnic group in South America. At the time of the Spanish conquest, the Chuncho lived in the forests east of Cuzco, in central Peru, dwelt in communal houses, and lived chiefly by hunting. Chuncho has also been used to describe one of three aboriginal stocks of Peru, the others being Quichua and Aymara.

Exotica name, exotica sound, and exotica talent.

Does style matter, if, in the finest clothes and sleek cars, attitude conceals inner wealth with a glaze of rudeness, a crust of impropriety, or a sheen of belligerence? Too often we’ve heard of, though never associated with, accidental millionaires whose daddies deliver allowances and gratuities based, never on politeness, on almost-friendly behavior, and encouraging, perhaps through lack of principle, the development of rude and bastardy behavior. We would that they were better men. We cannot live that way.

We crave politeness. It perfectly places, upon the threads we wear, a halo of refinement, an aura of politeness, a perfect accompaniment to our wealthy attitudes. We manifest politeness when we use our words, conveying any message and all tales, even when we quote impropriety, with perfect manners. We therefore honor our style, decadent or refined as our tastes may be, with the elegance and grace of good manners.

We never drool, as a rule, and, though it’s a rather drippy metaphor, all our actions lack dribbling drivel. Our speech, our movements, and our soft gaze never drools. We’ve seen (if accidentally) that fool, finger in nose at the stoplight, as if no one could see, but while many glance in disgust. The loud mouth too tipsy at a tidy party, and the child, wrapped in the King’s stroller, each in turn drooling. No ZooZoo drools: not man, woman, nor child.

We grasp politeness. We take it by the hand and dance, sometimes daintily, often vigorously, through life with fluid, kind grace and defined, luxurious elegance. We can saunter. We can stop. We know the limits of our mind, of our motions, of our words. Our dialogue, our semantics, our inflections and word-choices are polite, and by being polite, so are we defined. Our gestures, emanating from our mannered aura, reveal subtle elegance and profound meaning. Our ideas, no less the origin of our intentions to act politely mannered, resemble radiant diamonds, glinting from sparklingly radiant eyes.

We saw the poor, the crude, the rude in just one man. He could have cash; he may have written poetry; perhaps he danced Swan Lake. When he casts that rude glare or orders his frail friend to bend down, that man lacks manners, lacks grace, and, therefore, lacks riches. We brim with ZooZoo and we make such folk victims of our propriety, our manners pressing rowdy people into corners of politeness.

We exude power.  We must. We own deep affection for refined manners, and we maintain politeness in all occasions. To the novice, it seems a delicate position, perhaps it suggests, to people unfamiliar with impeccable, a compromising place. Oh contraire! We exude power and we cast our aura of delight around those near us. We use politeness as the basis for all of our interactions, and each mannered act as groove in our record of care, compassion, and kindness for all around us.

We are ZooZoo.

From 12 O’Clock Noon until 6:00 PM, Salt Lake City’s Fine Ceramic Artist and Japanese Tea Ceremony Master, Randy Burks hosts his 5th Annual Pottery Extravaganza! Randy Burks sells wonderful wares that he spent the year 2008 creating.

It’s only once a year—a Christmas Extravaganza! Beautiful, affordable pottery pieces to purchase while politely socializing, sipping wine, and nipping appetizers.

I’ve been drinking coffee out of Randy’s mugs for over a decade now, and I won’t go back to anything else. His pottery adds artistic touches to my home.

They’re creepy and they’re kooky…the Addams Family sitcom from 1964 slides subtle jokes and slips quick jabs at culture right in under your nose. It’s ZooZoo in a Zoo. They have it all—lurking lifestyle, dark opinions, and lavish styles!

They’re serious and spooky…

They’re all-together ooky….

Their house is a museum…

When people come to see ‘em…the only thing lacking is color. In black & white though, they reek of ZooZoo, even if it’s ZooZoo Subhued.

They really are a scree-um…
